Armor and Spellcasting

2026-04-13

This update adds a clear connection between what you wear and how well you cast.

Heavier armor now comes with meaningful trade-offs for mages: slower casting, slower mana regeneration, and a higher chance for spells to fail. Lighter gear keeps those penalties lower, letting dedicated casters stay fluid and reliable.

For mixed sets, the calculation is based on body coverage, so major pieces like chest armor matter more than smaller slots like gloves or boots.

All of these effects feed into a single unified modifier, which means armor penalties and other bonuses (rings, buffs, potions) stack cleanly and stay easy to reason about.
