Housing, Farming, and Storage: Building a Home in Valevire
The world feels more alive when you can carve out a place that’s truly yours. This update is all about turning “a plot of land” into a home: building the structure, growing food and materials, and organizing everything you collect along the way.
Housing: Modular Building Pieces
Housing now supports the core structural parts you’d expect:
- Floors and ceilings
- Walls
- Windows and doors
On top of that, we’ve expanded the variety of materials and designs, so housing can lean rustic, refined, or anything in between. The goal is to let you build functional layouts and give them a distinct look and feel.
Doors: Not Just Decoration
Doors are now interactive and can be opened. It’s a small detail, but it matters: a home should behave like a home. This also sets the foundation for future interactions like access control, interior privacy, and more immersive housing gameplay.
Farming: Farm Tiles Support All Seeds
Farm tiles now support all seeds, and you can grow 19 different kinds of plants. This makes farming a real pillar of progression rather than a narrow side activity—whether you’re focused on cooking ingredients, crafting reagents, trade goods, or just keeping your pantry stocked.
Storage: Chests Come to Housing
Housing now supports chests, with multiple sizes and meaningful constraints:
- Different weight capacities
- Different item count limits
That means storage decisions become part of your setup: a compact chest for essentials, or larger options for bulk materials and long-term stockpiles.
What’s Next
With structure, farming, and storage in place, the next housing milestones become much more interesting: interior utility, placement quality-of-life, and tying homesteads into crafting and the player economy in a way that feels natural.
