Thaumaturgy: Runic Crafting Meets Magic
We’re adding a new magic skill with a very different flavor: Thaumaturgy. It blends crafting with spellwork and turns magic into something you can prepare, carry, and deploy at the exact moment you need it.

Runic Sticks: One Spell, Instant Use
Thaumaturgy introduces runic sticks—crafted items that can hold one spell. When you need it, you break the stick to release the spell instantly.
They are powerful, but not free: carry too many and you risk unstable interactions. In the worst case, a stick can trigger the wrong spell—or multiple sticks can go off at once. Choosing how many to bring becomes part of the build and part of the tension.
Imbued Foci: Spells Attached to Gear
Next, you can imbue a focus with a spell. That focus can then be attached to weapons or armor, allowing the spell to trigger in combat or serve as utility when you need it most.
The long-term goal is to make gear choices and preparation matter as much as raw casting, especially for players who like tactical planning.
Planned: Runes for Housing
Thaumaturgy also sets up a future feature: craftable runes that can be attached to your house. Think light runes, notifications, and even traps.
